I would hate for anyone to overhear the comments made if my Aero had been at LMC!!!!

shades

On a separate note, replacement low beam bulbs run around £140 each as the HID ballast is integral to the bulb! And just about to hit 50,000 miles.

I think Boshly's comment that "a Morgan is a Morgan" really sums up the whole feeling.

I had a Porsche before my Aero - nobody ever stopped to talk to me about the Porsche - now everyone wants to admire and chat about the Aero. It might not be a 'trad' but it is a Morgan and is loved !!

Cheers,

All very heated. I would think that for Morgan to survive as a business they need to have both the old and the new. It's a very labour intensive business and I am always amazed that they can produce a hand built car for £30K, so I'm thinking that £100K cars are a necessary evil. I've gone back to an S1 having had an S3 (didn't like the boot) and a Roadster. To me the S1 is a great value for money Spyker and the Aero has such presence, truly unique, and I even like the grill now.

Morgan marketing is spot on. Not quite sure where the EVA fits though, I would think a Roadster version would be more in touch with Morgan roots rather than focus on a continuance of the Aeromax. I think an EVA Supersport would be great for the UK market. Anyway, they're all good in my humble opinion (other than the Aero bootlid which IMHO spoils what is close to a perfect car).

I'd agree with that. Perhaps even more, what I would stress is the attraction for me at least is that as a marque, Morgan allows all sorts of people to get a real motoring experience and to share it with others.

I don't think there is anyone on this site who is unaware of my concerns about the Aero. I put these in to practice by not buying one. Those of you who don't share these concerns to the same extent 'put your money where your mouths are' and DO buy them. Foe that, you have my totla respect

That ability to share views and respect the view of others is what attracts me to TM as a site- and a group of people.

I was a member of another Morgan site until I realised that it was nothing but a mouthpiece for sheep. it wasn't pleasant, so I left
best wishes

Mickey taking aside Gerwyn, I know that you feel strongly about the marque and that is what is our common bond; as well as a love of good food wine, lamb, etc, etc... wine

Must go now and get ready for the trip to Cognac with the usual suspects tomorrow.

Cheers

Reading some of the adverse comments regarding the Aero 8 only serves to remind me of all the crap I had to put up with when I was a member of the Harley Club and dared to buy the 'new boy on the block' - namely the V-Rod.
People looked down their nose at me, made such stupid ill informed comments and generally ignored me. Such treatment was dished out by the narrow minded non forward thinking traditional's who believe a company can survive forever by churning out the same old gear.
We all love the Spitfire, but the RAF aren't flying them now are they?
I've got no problem with the trads, but quite honestly, I'm puzzled as to why anyone would prefer to drive a vehicle with pre-historic chassis & suspension, over a modern day classic like the Aero.
I for one won't be joining any Morgan club - I've had enough of this sort of BS

Interesting post Robo, did you buy Phil's car in the end? If so you got a good'un, I think.

We changed our order for another Plus 8 to a Series I Aero and took delivery in 2002. I must say there was quite a bit of anti-feeling from the old brigade at Mog Meet's, not a a proper Morgan and all those sort of silly comments. Whilst you'll still find the occasional through back, in the main most Mog owners are more broad-minded, and even a certain legal luminary is not against them per se, but rather on his perceived view of their reliability and build quality.

However, I'll leave him to give you his opinions himself! innocent

Don't be put off going to any Mog event Robo, this site was started and habituated initially by mainly Aero owners, but even here we're outnumbered and the site is all the better for the mix of owners, with the potential 3W owners also adding something quite different to the mix. cheers flag

Enjoy your Mog in whatever form it takes! woohoo
