I wonder how long it will be before a small specialist fabricator offers a M3W chassis built with better quality tube and welded by a skilled welder who cares, and then with a NDT Certificate covering all the welds.

What years of manufacture were the problems for Morvgan Three Wheeler? If you take the number of cars sold in those years and and added them up you would have the potential for income from that many frames and that would be the incentive.

Mine went in exactly the same place - looks like a torsional twist in the tube fractures the small spot welds holding the coil bracket - the fix was to run some more weld along the bracket.

Is there away to mount the coil to clamps and then clamp to the frame?

Yes, I guess you could fabricate something - maybe held in place with jubilee clips? A good alternative if welding equipment isn't available.

In doing it that way it would allow for frame flex.

Yes, I've often wondered about this. The front suspension geometry could be sorted out at the same time (a la Empire kit). Also incorporate a rear swing arm so that the back wheel can be easily unbolted? However, with modern regulations, would we have to adopt a Q plate due to such a major component being changed?
