Players untipped did for my father.
I knocked it on the head 20 years ago. My Father smoked Players and Capstan Full Strength when I was a kid, he switched to filtered stuff but the damage was done. I too am coming up to 20 years smoke free.

I have started using an app, TomTom Speed Cameras,to keep me alert to changes in speed limits and the risk of fines. In the morgan there is always the issue of where to put the phone where it can be seen and heard. I saw this clip on the internet being offered by a Chinese company that I have purchased from in the past and given the low cost I thought I would give it a try. Ordinary mail usually takes several weeks to arrive from China but I have never had anything not arrive. I thought it may be of interest to other Trad Morgan owners that use mobile apps for navigation and other purposes. Mine has not yet arrived but it looks like something that should work ok and fit over the padding above the top of the dash. Much to my surprise I discovered it could only go on about half of the top sprung section. In effect the distance across the top of the padded section above the dashboard to the windscreen is just too short. The idea is great but not for the Morgan. It still might come in handy for another car but for the Morgan it is just too long. The next step is to see if I can fit it in some useful place in the Jag. Clearly I will just have to invent something for the Morgan.

Two spax-screws could fix the holder to the ash frame.   maybe not the best solution, but an option.

Peter can you point me at a picture of your dash/cockpit ? Is this what you mean Alistair?  It is the distance over the top of the padded "roll" to the windscreen which is insufficient for this type of holder.

Yes, almost perfect, how deep is roll from the glass at the base of the screen to just clear the leather roll hanging down in front of the wood dash panel?
(I will take those modern cm things or old fashioned English inches)

I guess it might not be quite the same on the trad dash but I use a magnetic swivel mount from the base of the windscreen. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Magne...t/dp/B00T0I54Q8I have fitted a case with the metal pad on it to the phone so I don't damage the handset itself. This clips to the metal swivel mount that is stuck to the windscreen. We used it for the complete trip around Europe and it did not come off. The phone hangs down over the dash but obscures very little of the windscreen which is what I was after for obvious reasons. The dashboard lip on the Aero is very short and so I am not certain how this will work on the Trad from your photo. This is the mount and its location. The second image has the pad half way down the phone when it should actually be very near the top of the phone but it is a different one that I have with me today.   Would this work ?
