Hi, I am a relativley new member and I have been trying to find some information about how to improve the exhaust system on a 1998 (4.0) Plus 8.
Is it possibly simply to remove the Lambda sensor and remap the engine? If that is so would I have to undo this again prior to every MOT test? I would also like to fit a new set of free flow manifolds and exhaust system. Are there any good and reasonable suppliers of these?

I have the RPI manifold and exhaust system on my '02 +8. The manifolds are welded rather than mandrel bent (which I would have preferred) However welding is perfectly acceptable if done well - which they are.
RPI can supply a less restrictive Cat, but mine is de-catted - it is a smidge on the loud side
I had mine ceramic coated inside and out which I think is well worth doing.
The RPI exhaust seems to have the best reputation for free flow but Librands also have a very good name

I've not done any mods myself but I did learn from the local dealer here that fitting the Librands system to a plus 8 (USA spec) is very tedious - took them over a day - but maybe that's because they don't do many. That said, I was tempted myself because I've heard it is indeed a very good system.

Regarding RPI SS exhaust systems for Morgan Plus 8.
I have a 1972 Plus 8 and I found that the RPI exhaust system (Sports de-catted) did not fit my car contrary to what RPI advertised in eBay. The problem area was around the rear axle. I had to cut the pipes and weld in new bends (provided by RPI)to make it fit. I have suggested that RPI should cover part of my extra expenses but so far they have only offered me 15% on future purchases to cover the cost for welding and fitting. So if you have an early Morgan Plus 8 and want to install a RPI system be aware !! Now when the system is installed I find it to be really great and the sound and effect is to my liking.
