Apparently, according to the news, warships are not 'she' any more.... HOORAY!
Neither are cars, nor anything else that is not an actual female being.They are all 'Its'. OK?

Ludicrous. I hope the French etc are therefore changing all their nouns to be gender neutral.

Political correctness gone mad. I think this nonsense could only happen, unfortunately, in the English speaking world. What are they trying to do, kill any sense of romance in the language?
Even though boats and ships may be given male names at least in Italian the words for boat, ship, car and motorcycle are all feminine gender.

It is not only the English speaking world, you don't know what undreamt-of possibilities are currently being tried out to mess up the German language.
Any noun that has always been male but includes both sexes will soon be written in double form male and female. E.g. die Politiker*innen, die Autofahrer*innen etc. And this is only one example of what is going on to change the language.

I agree, it is PC gone mad. It seems to me that someone somewhere has an agenda on all this 'stuff', after all, the number of people it directly effects must be in a minuscule minority, yet we seem to be having it all rammed down our throats at every turn. It's the same with gaydom too, especially on TV.
Just what is going on?
