Tires, has anyone tried these?

MWS are the supplier of wire wheels to Morgan so should be able to make you 18 inch wheels to fit.

What would be the consensus, if an 18” wheel was ordered, a 2.5” rim or a 3” rim? And if a 3” rim would it fit in the fenders of the M3W?

I've been in contact with MWS for several years off and on now and Isabella has been a great help with my questions etc.

Isabella Zethofer <isabella@mwsint.com>

They have both 18" and 19" 2.5" wide rims in both center and outer lacing configurations.

They use the MG TA wheel configuration for the M3W. I'm sure that this spoke hub will fit many other British cars, but they do list it for the MG TA and Morgan Three Wheeler on their web site.

If you go to their website for their catalog files. In that you can custom fit about any hub to about any wheel. They can also go up from the 48 spoke now to a 60 or even 72 if needed.

Some of the rims and combos are limited and chrome/stainless may not be available in all combos. Actually the cost is not all that bad.

A friend of mine ordered the MG TB/TC wheels from Moss Motors that were in chrome and have the center lace pattern. He paid over $500/ea. I think MWS would be cheaper even with the shipping etc.

They also sell Blockley tyres as well.

Hey Dan, is there any practical advantage to going to more than 48 spokes if you are not racing?

Thanks for the info on the custom wheels. That loosening the fenders in order to remove a knock off wheel just eats at me.

i have my tyres fitted at MWS and they just deflate the tyre. No need to loosen or remove the mudguard (fender).

Thanks for the tip on removal of wheel/tire from under the mud guards.

Did you have the wheels laced with 48 spokes?

I don't know that there's any reason for more than 48, but more spokes tend to be a bit more showy to some people.

Will the mudguards fit over the 110/90?
