We have had the same Bunn coffee maker for over 25 years. I had to fix a leak twice, but how many newer appliances last that long? An yes, we grind fresh beans..... no milk or cream for me as I cannot tolerate the lactose.

Recalling the cold drip coffee in Japan I did a little research. Apparently there are several systems available. There are a couple of shops in Australia that sell them but they seem to come from China.

Never tried that crap, 😂, but I hear that now elephants are getting into the coffee game and doing the same thing the civet cat fad.

It takes a long time but it is actually no more difficult than a moka. You just set it and forget it for a few hours then you can put the coffee in the fridge for when you want a cup.

Here is another one

From the sales blurb for this:

Quote:
The idea behind this slow cold brewing method is that the coffee drinker can experience the coffee flavours without the tannins, bitterness and astringency that you usually get from a traditional hot brewing method. The cold brew is great, because it still retains the chocolate, citrus and fruity notes.

The coffee reacts differently in the chemical bond between hot and cold water and these tools allow you to discover these finer aspects of the coffee flavours that might otherwise be lost in a hot brew. These sleek coffee makers are elegant and yield a refined cup of coffee - full of body and zing.

Store your extraction in the fridge, and drink neat in a cold glass or over ice. Perfect for a hot morning or afternoon. Cold brew is also a great start to a blended coffee drink.

Since I cannot carry this with me in my motoring adventures the Moka Pot works, just not as well.
