I cannot get my Brooklands steering wheel off. Have had it off before, but it's always been very tight but not this hard. It's now very stuck. The quick disconnect doesn't operate. I've pulled very hard, done it with the key in and out, lock to lock, twisting the wheel and pulling, in the car, out of the car, and no dice.
Any ideas?

Use shock spray. It really works.

I would imagine "shock spray" is similar to liquid wrench.

If you hadn't had it off before, I'd say the "long bolt" was still installed to prevent the disconnect from working. Have you checked that there is no other interference between the disconnect and the steering wheel bolts?

Stefan Does anyone know of the source for this in the USA?

Hi Guys, thanks for writing. I've checked all the obvious things. Please read **carefully** - something bizarre is going on. My car did not come with a long bolt or with a double-nut and the dealer changed nothing about the wheel. The bolts are slightly longer than they need to be, but the wheel still has been off the car half a dozen times or so - (I even had it off yesterday at some point). That said, wanting to double-check, I took the wheel apart, leaving just the yellow quick release on the splined shaft and still could not get it off. I pulled as hard as I could and attempted it no less than half a dozen times to no avail. I put a little lubricant in a couple of spots then put the wheel back together and attempted again this morning, no dice. I drove the car to storage just now. Yesterday when I put the wheel back on the MORGAN logo was biased to the left going down the road. On my way to storage, the logo decided it wanted to be biased to the right. This many degrees Front wheels do not look toed in or out. I know the car well enough now to know that the wheel not being centralized going roughly straight isn't some difference in the road. Something mechanical is going on here and I can't figure it out. Any thoughts/insight greatly appreciated.

I know that it "supposed" to only go on when it is properly lined up.... but your mentioning that the steering wheel is tilted the other way, makes me wonder if it was slid on wrong?

^^ I thought that same thing -- there's one spline that ensures it only goes on the proper way -- when I had the wheel off (but the yellow quick connect hub still on) I confirmed it was slid on the proper way.
I swear -- I'm not crazy and I know some of you are probably saying this doesn't add up-- I normally wouldn't post about something like this but it's mystifying me!

Does the quick release pull forward, but the hub not release off the spline, or does the release mechanism not pull at all?
