I have just spoken to Morgan about the problem. One of its electrical boffins told me:
1. That this is a problem more prevalent in 2011-14 M3Ws. Since then, an improved sender has been fitted. He claimed that the older ones will show zero when there is about a third of a tank left; the newer ones when there are c.two gallons left.
2. That fitting a longer sender is unlikely to help by itself as the fuel gauge is calibrated to the factory-fitted device.
Firstly, many apologies for resurrecting this thread! I’m just wondering whether any folks with a newer M3W (2015 onwards) can confirm that their fuel gauge does indeed read ‘0’ at around 200 miles. If so, what is the part number of the fuel sender used? Or, maybe it's the same sender and the difference is that since 2014 they have been factory calibrated? I have covered a fair number of miles since posting the above, but the guage on my 2016 still reads zero after only 100 miles. I always brim the tank and have never been able to get more than 24 litres in when the trip shows 200 miles.

Well, guess who ran out of petrol today!!
Luckily it happened outside of the headoffice of Motorway Incident group!
As usual several people came from the offices to have a gander at the car. One of these people was an incident officer who had spare petrol in his emergency response vehicle. Brilliant.
Gauge was at 6% but had been there a while. Odometer was at 200 ish km. However yesterday we spent a long time stuck on motorway idling along. Even so, would have thought there was a few miles togo!!
It is possible that reset of trip meter was not done at last fill?? ( age related memory issues?)
So, emergency fill of 5 litres and fill of 30 litres. That is the most I have ever had .
Memo to self, make sure the trip meter is zero'd properly

I always hate comparing gas mileage…. but I seem to be getting about 24 MPG (mostly around town). I
Roger if you moved to UK your gas (petrol) mileage would improve as our gallons are bigger than US gallons. On second thoughts that would not work as fuel is sold in litres. I get around 30 mpg (Imperial) Tim

On my 78 gold wing and now my M3W I have kept a meticulous log of every fill.... It is a bugger when I have gone into Canada as I have to also calculate liters to gallons!

Last week I managed 44 mpg at a steady 65 from Leeds to Ashford in Kent and 40 mpg on the way home at a steady 80 or so.

One Imperial gallon equals 1.2 US gallon and some change. Just curious because that would drop it down in the mid to high 30's US.

Hi Dan
Thats an imperial gallon.
G56 air filter, straight through stock pipes,569 cams and a re-map.
Since the cams and re-map it is doing about 6-8 miles more per gallon and is so much more tractable and smoother to drive.

I was looking at the S$S site, and the only advantage I can see for the 569 cams is in lowering compression at start up. I cannot find what a G56 air filter is. On the pipes, I take it you knocked out the baffles, or was it the Cats?
opps see "garage 56" did you go with the whole stage one kit? or just the filter?
