Replacement Rocker Switch required for Jan 1976 4/4 4 str.

It's the switch that is located to the right of the hazard warning switch.

A previous owner has used this switch to power spotlights directly and I think that is why it has failed. (I have now fitted a relay)

Can any one help with the supplier of a suitable replacement.

The rocker switches are Jaguar and supplied to the factory by SNG Barratt. They fit E Types or XJ6s around 69-73.

That is a traditional faith of that rocker switch without a relay. So we fitted a relay as a preventive action. We heard the story a a dutch Morgan which was stuck by a melted switch. Succes by finding a good replacement, wouldn't be so hard to find.

Thanks - Mervyn's were helpful in that they explained that the early 76 4/4's were fitted with Lucas switches and these are now obsolete and they have exhausted the MMC stock - He gave me a series of Lucas p/no's for 4/4 switches but could not suggest other vehicles.

Try MG Owners Club. The MGB from 76 to 80 used a rectangular rocker switch which might fit.

Thanks - I followed your link and ended up ordering an identical Lucas 35947 on eBay for a Foden!
(The same switch range was also fitted to the MGB GT)
As I had to wait for delivery, out of interest, I part dismantled the faulty switch and gave it a good dose of WD 40 and now it works perfectly! I did the same to the hazard warning switch which was intermittent and now that's good too.
The switch to the left of the hazard warning was also seized and WD 40 did the trick but I cannot identify its function - I think maybe it's pre - wiring for spot lights. ?
The top row of switches all work ok but then they get used a lot more.

In case it's of interest to others I list below the Lucas part nos for the switches I have been working on today on my early 1976 4/4. The switches on the 4/4 changed towards the end of 1976.
Hazard Warning switch: Lucas 39846
Auxiliary switches to the left and right of the Hazard Warning switch: Lucas 35947
Side Light / Headlight switch: 35870
Googling brings up new old stock related to other vehicles such as Foden, Jags, MG etc. As I said in an earlier post, I manage to recover what turned out to be sticking switches using WD 40. The trickiest part was removing the switches from the their bezels - but once you get the knack.....

If somebody could provide a photo of needed rocker switch, I can check to see if I have it. I recetly found a box holding a couple dozen or so switches - some are obviously for Plus 8s however others are narrower.
