I will be taking my 8 to France in June and don't think I will take the matching Morgan suitcase... it's huge, needs a waterproof cover... heavy to lug about into hotels.

I was wondering about a waterproof bag... not a bin liner! laugh

But I have seen one or two on here with large squashy bags strapped on and could be tempted by one of those.

Advice/recommendations welcome.

Thanks

Try looking for “sailing dry bags” or just “dry bags” on Mr Google. There is a multitude of shapes, sizes and styles. Big names such as Musto personally
I have used LOMO stuff for scuba diving and it’s always a bargain, the 100 litre dry bag for just over £12. Bargain.

Here’s a picture of my thumb, but in the background you can see two boot bags on the back of a Morgan. One is for ladies clothes, and the other is for gents apparel, ladies cosmetics, ladies toiletries, and ladies shoes. They’re designed with all the right straps. As you see, i’m wondering whether to fix Morgan wings on them
You can get them here

SFG that is what we have to supplement the hills alive bags. With only one bag you can still use the original third brake light.

For us, the space behind the seats is an alternate storage area. For alternative coats, headwear, spare shoes she brought out after we sealed the bootbag, self expanding cushions, foodstuffs, souvenirs, storm cover, hood/tonneau, wheel spanner, mallet, and one or two things we probably don’t need.

+1for the bootbags. I have one and it holds plenty, does not obstruct the high brake light. I have put press stud poppers on the flap that covers the zip though. Just a belt and braces job to make sure the cover is there when the bag is full. I also use a couple of cheap ratchet straps as extra anchoring but not a necessity. Extra stuff is behind the seats or in the passenger footwell.
I like the idea of two bootbags for added stowage.
We also strap collapsable seats and a small collapsable rable on as well. Makes weekends at TOTH etc a comfy day.

I also use a double layer of cortex in the base of the bag, which keeps it rigid over the rack. You have to watch out for the flappy bit underneath, as well.

Our Overboard bag has been brilliant but last time we used it one of the seams came unstuck the day we set off on holiday. So I had to glue it, which meant I couldn't then return it for them to examine...….
