Darn right Dave re the tread rubber bolting arrangement. I managed to "rescue " my front wings before the tread rubber securing arrangement destroyed the paintwork and started to corrode the wings. I removed the tread rubber and associated fastenings and binned the lot. I put small s/s button heads into the holes with nylon washers and nyloc nuts, i think the effect looks classic and the paintwork hasn't suffered from tread rubber contact. My car did only have one tread rubber on each wing.

My car did only have one tread rubber on each wing. I copied this idea. Not because of corrosion, I just could not get the tread back on. I guess I have a thing about items that are supposed to have a function and are used for decoration.
