Sitting on side of road. Engine just stopped. It’s so windy I can’t hear if fuel pump running. Car only has 500 miles on it. Do fuel pumps ever give up that quickly?

They have been know to fail that quickly.

Check the reset button, around the lower right hand side of the oil tank, they have been known to trip unexpectedly.

Turn on ignition and check the battery voltage. When the current goes too low the electronics go blank and the engine just stops. Basically the Alternator/Rectifier was DOA. If the voltage is too low the fuel pump won't.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Thanks - had it flat-bedded to garage since bad weather was on the way. Voltage is good. Still reading high even after multiple start attempts.

I'll check reset button later this weekend. I'll kick myself if that ends up being the culprit! lol

Thunderstorms just hitting where I was stranded so glad the Morgan and I are off the road!

Car won't turn over if the reset tripped so... May the fuel pump. If you turn on the ignition and don't hear the whine of the pump then that is the likely culprit!

If a 2013 car with 500 miles only: she was not moved much.
Check the tank and fuel lines for debris!

I couldn't stand it anymore, so I went over to the garage to test it. Hit the reset, then turned the key and the pump started. Hooray! Engine turned over a few times and caught and ran for a few seconds but couldn't rev it past 1500rpm, then stumbled and died. Totally silent - no pump. Hit reset again - no pump. Sooo, something is going on with pump or pump circuit. IIRC, the pump should run at all times so I guess it's time to start checking voltage through the circuit to make sure the pump is even getting power consistently. If it is, then it must be internal to the pump itself. Even if the lines are clogged the pump should be whirring.

Now I remember my Caterham ownership. Lots of stuff to diagnose at first, then was pretty solid. Hope this phase doesn't last too long! smile

The symptoms are those of a failed pump.
Check the fuel pressure at the test port on the top of the engine, it should be 58psi or thereabouts. The fact it won’t rev beyond 1500 points to low fuel pressure
