Having recently retired I'm seriously considering buying my first Morgan. My knowledge of Morgan is minimal although I've yearned for one since I was 11. I came close to buying a +8 a couple of years ago and wish I had now. My budget would be at the bottom of the price range (c @25k) so I don't expect the earth.

There are a couple of cars at dealers within a couple of hours from home (Chester) and I watched a very nice red 4 seater go one ebay for well within my budget recently.

my 'perfect' Morgan would be a +8 in Old English White, with red leather interior from the 1970s.

I don't mind a little work but I certainly don't want to be getting into chassis problems or rot.

So does anyone know of anything that might be available within say 70 miles of Chester.

Thanks in advance

Gary

Gary you probably have more chance of spotting a Dodo than finding a Plus 8 in your category within 70 miles TBH.

This looks to be a good example and worth the round trip I'd say, I visited nearly every dealer looking for my 2 Plus 8's. Here

Good Luck.

I don't know why, but Morgans older than the 1990s just don't seem to come on the market.

Richard's selection looks like a good option to me.

Melvyn Rutter has a 1991 royal ivory plus 8 with red interior for £26,950. The spec looks good. The price is a bit keen, but it has covered some 98,000 miles. Has a new hood, king pins, and recent tyres. It came up on the factory/dealer stock list this morning. The price tends to go up for the early cars. The early Morgans didn't have treated wood so the frame needs to be carefully checked.

Rutter bought this one off EBay for circa £24k, so they are about.

They do but people are scared of older classic stuff.
took a time to sell my 86 then I must of had 10 plus genuine enquiries the week it was sold.
Strange not seeing our morgan in the manshed
but
moving on
good luck with your search drive
