Thanks Dan, and you are probably correct about the reason for the bolt pattern and the retrofitting.

I never thought I would be saying "WOW.... my HD is REALLY smooth" LOL. Last year I test drove a heritage softail with the 114 ci engine. It had a lot of annoying vibration, which did not temper with speed. And I won't even say anything about the UGLY newer saddle bags.

Nothing says "smooth" like a '76 FLH Shovelhead with a solid mounted motor...

Thanks guys... This is what we normally ride when it's the wife and I. But because of a failure of a new battery in this bike, I just HAD to ride the old '76 for around a 100 miles yesterday. When I ride solo I choose to ride the '76 as it gets more looks and I like to answer questions... The bike below is an '09 FLHRSE3 Harley CVO with their 110" Twin Cam motor. I never thought I would be saying "WOW.... my HD is REALLY smooth" LOL. Last year I test drove a heritage softail with the 114 ci engine. There was a "slight" drift off topic, I'll admit. I apologize if I offended anyone with a bit more info than asked for... And, I believe that everyone here knows I do not have a M3W, but have been a solid contributor over the almost five and a half years I've been a forum member. Nye on to retiring at the end of this year, it's just too hard to come up with the money for the M3W, but I do have the M3W spirit in me. I bet I've done more research and reading on the M3W that most who own them. They are a delightful piece of machinery! If it's new forum rule to have a M3W, then I will conform. I thought adding information and insight from different points of view were what the forum thrived on. Again sorry if I've miss-directed anyone down the dark side.

Dan, diversity is the very lifeblood of this forum you just carry on especially as there are so many ex bikers transferring to M3W ownership. Some of the thread drifts have been pretty epic adventures with some real gems coming to light.
You have some magnificent looking bikes.

Dan, Thanks for your input on the the engines and their care and feeding. The side notes are indeed interesting so I for one don’t mind the drift, after all we are bikers at heart. Some of us have been luckier than others in the ability to own a Sid eBay side Harley that is not a side hack. Mine should show up next week or very very soon thereafter.
