I’m not sure if it is still the case, but in the 1980s the US Postal Service used RHD Jeeps (2wd) so the postie could get straight out of the vehicle, onto the pavement.

Yes, The street sweeping machines in the UK are left hand drive to allow the operator a better view of the nearside of the road.

The mail truck is not EV. They are powered with a GM 6 cyl and have very low gear ratios. Max speed isabout 50 mph. They arebuilt for urbanuse. A friend had a post office jeep andwas lucky to get12 mpg with a following wind.
