Out for a drive on Sunday and came across a decorated open Land Rover S1 being used to take a bride to her Wedding. She had thoughtfully covered her hair with gauze, and dad had eschewed his topper and was cruising slowly. Nice sunny day for them

I saw a few S1s at the Jersey motoring Festival yesterday. Lovely things, but the cost of them is a bit eye watering unfortunately.

Sunday. Luebeck to west of Bremen towards Dutch border. 250 miles across country. It was very hot, 33c in the shade. First 2 beers didn’t touch the side.

Nice run out over the Higher Ferry and on to Paignton, Totnes and back home a very enjoyable 35 miles away from Brexit and Trump what's not to like. Lots of smiles and waves along the way. Morgan's should be on the NHS I reckon We are lucky down here seeing a massive black steam train and a paddle steamer on the way across the river Dart .

Richard, that steam train is how I got to school in Churston from Paignton. Great fun twice a day John

John, the time our 3 went to Churston they got Mum's taxi from Stoke to the passenger ferry over from the Station Restaurant and walked up to the Kingswear banjo for the coach. All that for £90 a term each, cheap at half the price for attending the Grammar school.
Was the steam train running all year round in those days.
