I have been thinking my steering was a little wayward this last few weeks but after a long drive with the club on Sunday it was definitely worse so I decided to have look as the memsahib was in and could waggle the steering white I crawled under to have a look.
It would appear that the two centre bracket bolts have worked lose on the steering rack!!! lock tab in place so I cant see how.
So now a job to tighten them ,
I hope that the plate or bolts are not warn,if so are they available?
My car is a 3.7 Roadster with Power steering and has done 11,000 miles and is 30 months old so not high miles ,has anyone else had this problem.

I got my lock tab off Williams, they kept stock in

When replaced I used locktite on the bolts and made sure the locking tab was securely folded, then a dab of paint to act a as simple tell-tale for quick future inspections

30 months old ,would it not be covered by warranty ?
Should the slack or worn bolts been checked when the car was

Reading through this gomog advice I dismantled these links some time ago and replaced the centre link bracket even though it showed no sign of failure. White marked all the fastening and often check them.

30/30 (30 months or 30,000 miles) I think is the warranty. Mine runs out tomorrow, expecting to find mine fallen to bits tomorrow when I open the garage. hide
