How awful glad you & Cain are OK. Hope your colleagues manage to get the van driver. Wonder if the driver was over the drink limit again.

I imagine that he will face a nice charge over not stopping to render assistance etc. I am glad that you were not injured, or at least I hope that is the case as you don't mention any injuries. No doubt a few bruises though.
Quite likely, as you indicate, he was over the limit but the fact that he did not stop may actually work in your favour. I don't know how the insurance works in the UK but most insurance schemes that I have experienced allow the insurance company to deny liability if the driver is under the effects of drugs or alcohol.
It sounds as though it could have been much worse: being pushed into oncoming traffic has the potential for real tragedy.
