A question about brake pads to Elise Drivers.
I have EBC yellow stuff but they howl and scream so that I wake all the neighbors. Also my ears suffer a lot from it. And you can literally see them wear out after every tour. What is a good alternative. It's a 2007 Toyota Elise. Thanks for recommendations.

mintex 1144 were recommended by a Lotus indy.
they've worked well for my spiritedly driven road Elise, quiet, progressive and work fine from cold. i do use yellows for my track car, and they're fine too tbh.
sometimes noise can be caused by lack of copper grease or poor shims. can be random.

Not the same but for feedback from a Caterham friend.

He went to EBC Yellow and had similar problems. They re-seated the discs calipers and gave it a good greasing and most of it went. He also had the issue where it wore his discs out faster but he has a 30lb right foot. He does track the car and so they get hammered all the time.

I have the EBC Yellows on the heavy ML63 and they did not squeal at all and I have a 20lb right foot. They also wore the discs out a bit quicker I expect so I have just fitted new discs and EBC Yellow and they are also not squealing.

I suspect Yellow's are just too hard for something as light as an Elise unless you are repeatedly hammering them.

I used to have Mintex in tuned road cars and never had a bad experience.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
