I am in the long recovery process from a detached retina. Op was 22nd May estimate i will be allowed to drive mid July by which time it will be known what vision I will have in the impacted eye, normal activities will not be able to resume until September.
In my enforced idleness has got me thinking about cars.
If i decide that driving the Morgan (2006 Roadster) is not sensible and go down to a single car so sell the Morgan and Discovery Sport what next. ?
It would have to be capable of
1. Touring
2. Carrying a cocker spaniel!
3. Fun to drive
4. Occasional 4 seater for short trips

Convertible or large sunroof maybe

Age not important but reliability would be

Any recommendations?

Pete

This could be a fun thread. Depends on Budget I guess
Citroen 2CV
Gordon Keeble (I've always fancied on, out of my justifiable price range now)
Land Rover Defender
Reliant Scimitar GTE

All your requirements but only space for kids at the rear on short trips a Porsche 964 Targa.
More the cruiser with plenty of space (sorry, again German) Mercedes W 124 Cabriolet.

If it cannot be a Morgan for the longer journeys then it has to be a Land Rover Defender. idea

Robust if you take a wobble.

Nice and high up to look the Truck & Van Drivers in the eye if you have to.

Will tow anything you need and allow you to park in the most difficult of places.

You could even trailer a Morgan for use when you get there.

And if you're after the ultimate cool, there's an ex-SAS Pinkie for sale at Blanchards:
