I bought my black bonnet strap from morgan-spares.com a couple weeks ago. After considering all the pros and cons discussed in the forum, I bit the bullet and installed it tonight.  I'm happy tonight. Hope I feel the same way in the morning.

I bought my black bonnet strap from morgan-spares.com a couple weeks ago. After considering all the pros and cons discussed in the forum, I bit the bullet and installed it tonight. I'm happy tonight. Hope I feel the same way in the morning. Looks real nice with the Lambswool, how does it fix I assume you have to drill somewhere? Cheers John

I found a thread with detailed instructions about inserting the strap at the bonnet stay/bumper. My Morgan has no such feature. I ended up drilling a pilot hole in the desired spot, and then attached with a stainless steel self tapping screw and a good size washer. It's fairly easy to do, just had to spend a week talking myself into doing it.

Protecting the bonnet is all very well, but how do you cover up the scratches on the wing when you (or a butter-fingered mechanic) accidentally lets the buckle slip from the hand. Not worth the risk in my book!
