My 2009 4/4 Sport that I bought a couple of months ago is nearing 60k miles and so I would like to perform a full service to it.
Within that service I want to replace the cracked heated windscreen and possibly attach 2 spotlights (I have already bought both these items from Mervyn Rutter)
I would also like to tighten all the bolts, lubricate all the points and of course change oil, filter etc.
The biggest problem is that the best Morgan specialist is in Milano and I am in Rome (that is 600km - 373 miles and about 6 hours of motorway driving)
So my question is do I need a Morgan Specialist or could I service it here in Rome.
There is a great British car specialist here that I have used before for my 1965 MG, that comes highly recommended.

Any advice would be very welcome!

Vassilis, it sounds like you have researched your "new" garage well there is no reason why they would not make an excellent job of servicing your Morgan.

Just get them to be careful with the 4 screws in the upright pillars of the windscreen as 2 of them are longer and if they put these back in the wrong location they will crack the new windscreen, the rest of the car is very much MG era so they should feel at home. A lot of these smaller specialist garages are fastidious in their work and welcome the opportunity to work on a Morgan.

I like to agree with Richard. I would add that it could be time to change the timing belt. If you are in the know of a good Ford garage in Rome I would let them do this job because the VCT engine is very modern and high tech. It should be done by mechanics who do it every day and not as a first approach. May be the Ford people are the choice anyway prior to a Morgan garage regarding this very engine when to change the timing belt. at least they do it more often.

Thank you Heinz, that is a very interesting point...
Maybe they should do the oil/filter change as well!
