Hi Y'all, My names Mike I live in Sussex and run a recently purchased 1998 plus 4. Being a bit of a 'Belt & Braces' guy I would like to replace the cam belt. Is this the sort of job that can be undertaken by a D.I.Y mechanic and are there special tools required? The engine is a Rover T16. Any advice would be appreciated.

Mike

T16 Cam Belt Change

This seems to describe it fairly well.

It has a chain. You'd hear it if got slack, but in my experience I'd only change it when the engine needed rebuilding.
