My 3.0 Roadster will do 32mpg ......on a run.

I'm glad you say that as I have never measured mine , just guessed at it. I'm not sure what the benefits of the GDI are over the previous Duratec but I know it seems to be a good engine in a real car.

As I collect the MOG in November I was surpriced about the low consumption. About 7 litres/100 Km.

It was cold, wet and slippery, the MOG was brandnew and the hod was closed.

The times changes, spring rises up and also the consumption. Dry road, hod down and up to nearly 10litres/ 100KMs.

Ups... Now with a light right food it's about 8litres a real thing. Sometimes to listen the wonderful "roarrrr" may be it's a little bit more, but less than 9litres.

I did a little evaluation after two seasons:

So far I've driven about 20,000 km with my Plus 4. About half of it last year and the other half this year.
I mostly drive on scenic country roads. I avoid motorways as much as possible (total share approx. 1%).

Average consumption total 7.34 l/100 km (38.4 MPG). Tendency falling.

2018:
Average 7.45 l/100 km (37.9 MPG)
Min. 6.34 l/100 km (44.5 MPG)
Max. 8,02 l/100 km (35,2 MPG)
The maximum was at the last tank filling before winter (so it's rather caused by low outside temperatures).

2019:
Average 7,18 l/100 km (39,3 MPG)
Min. 6.66 l/100 km (42.3 MPG)
Max. 7.58 l/100 km (37.2 MPG)

What is interesting for me is that the average consumption this year is significantly lower than last year. The driven roads were quite comparable. This year I have been partly even more sporty on the road (I have discovered that revs over 4000 RPM can be quite fun )

The first year ends approx. in the middle of the list after the average with 8.02 (l/100 km). The first value with (coincidentally also) 8.02 contains a longer (quite fast) motorway trip.

It can clearly be seen that consumption was higher at the beginning than later. So there seems to be a running-in behaviour.

Very interesting line-up, Michael, thank you very much. Right at the beginning when the consumption was a bit higher the engine had more friction. It was probably not yet lively and responsive than today after 20.000 km.

I rarely get under 9L/100km. Last (motorway) drives it did 10-11L/100km. (Speeds 100-130km/h)
Currently it is at the dealer to get the Immobiliser-problem sorted out. I asked them to check if there is something wrong re fuel consumption.
Hope they find something, consumption is quite high...

I picked up the Aero Racing manifold and full system from the factory on Monday.

I'm still getting low 30's but there's no doubt that my engine has loosened up significantly and is now just over 7000miles.

I never had the original upgrade ecu flash, but once I've fitted the new system, I'll pop back to the factory for the Clubsport flash.

Yesterday I got the exhaust off, but I left the manifold until Saturday because it doesn't just lift out.

Obviously I'll take some pictures and do a How To, as I go.

This way, having done 7000miles with a standard set up, I can compare the new system before the ecu flash, then on the way back from the factory I should get a clear idea of the changes.

So after my journey to and from the factory the figures are in:

Travelling to the factory

Distance: 236 Miles
Fuel Used: 26.5 Litres
Brand: Shell V Power (99 Octane Rating) @ £1.45 per litre
MPG: 40.5 MPG

Travelling from the factory

Distance: 208 Miles
Fuel Used: 20.6 Litres
Brand: Esso Supreme+ Unleaded (97 Octane Rating) @ £1.40 per litre
MPG: 46.1 MPG

The journey time was longer coming from the factory due to an accident on the M25, but traffic flow was much faster on the M40 coming home.

Looks like I may be leaving vpower!

I get at least 40 mpg on 95 octane. 14k on clock. No flat spot and no hair trigger accelerator.
All in a very well behaved motor.

Hi - just looked back at this and checked the paperwork - the total labour was £545. ECU labour was £332.50, and the labour for the manifold/cat/exhaust etc was £212.50. All excluding VAT. Sorry I didn't make that clearer before!
