Evening everyone,
I have had enough of the "leather" peeling off all over the place on the underside of the dashboard.
I plan to drop the panel, remove the covering and spray paint it black.
I am unsure what metal it is made of, I presume it is steel, but could it be aluminium?
Does anyone here know for certain?
Many thanks
Rylan

To the best of my knowledge the Dashboards are made of multiplex with a layer of veneer.

It's ally assuming it's the same as I had on both my plus 4's. I'd be tempted to cover it in black vinyl.

Definitely aluminium. I'd be surprised if you used decent vinyl, a good contact spray adhesive and also wrap the edge a bit if it would peel.

Are we really talking about the dashboard or the plastic part beneath the dashboard? I kept the RHD dashboard of my then P4SS as a souvenir when it was converted to LHD. It's definitely multiplex. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/07/23/5AE6C7E1-7B24-4015-942F-EBB02ED6A73C.jpg)
