Without any evidence on the garage floor my Plus 4 has started to lose clutch fluid! Gone down about 10mm in around 500 miles. I'm assuming it might be a problem within the gearbox housing, but not really sure. Any advice appreciated. Does anyone have diagrams or photos of the clutch operating mechanism within the gearbox housing?

What year Plus 4 Gary? and is the slave cylinder external or internal?
Also check the floor around the pedals, it could be leaking inside the footwell.

1993 Dave. Checked the floor and all dry. The master cylinder is lower left bulkhead when viewed from front. I'm assuming the slave cylinder is internal?

Chase the flexi hose from the master cylinder. If it enters the bellhousing with an adjacent bleed nipple its internal. Otherwise the slave will be either 5 oclock or 7 oclock viewed from the front.
External is a simple fix. Internal means engine or gearbox out.

is 1993 still the T16 Rover engine ? My '89 (M16) has the slave cilinder at 12 oclock. Just got a new one from Merlinmotorsports. A special type used on Hewland racing boxes, also used by Morgan factory in those years on the +4 .I have read they don't last long because they are higher than the master cilinder.... can't see why myself. Perhaps of the short throw , those are rather "direct" . Morgan did a cut in the bellhousing ( Sd1 ? ) and welded a alu block in with threated holes for the slave. Also replaced the pivot ball on the box for the fork at 12 oclock.
