Thought it may be worth an update on the ITG filter that I fitted to the car recently. I've now done about 150 miles, and I feel that the car is pulling better in 4th and 5th gear. ITG reckon their filters may improve torque, so maybe I'm predisposed to the 'improvement'

The filter cost £57.25 including next day delivery. ITG have set up their web site so that a Morgan 4/4 2009-18 1.6L van be selected to get the correct Profilter. I found their technical team via email to select the correct filter most helpful.

Why did I choose ITG? I had a Discovery TD5 fitted with an Aluminium intercooler and re-mapped by AlliSport, and they fitted an ITG filter, which worked well.

I had the K&N filter in the factory airbox which worked well with the remap. Then I opted for the ITG induction kit supplied and fitted at Williams. I noticed the difference in pulling power straight away, although some on here disagree on the location of the hose sucking in the air above the grille.

What is the noise level like?

Only a little extra air sucking noise if you rev the engine in neutral, no change when driving. The noise of my Lybrand's exhaust probably hides it

David, if you like to keep the noise down but have an effective enhancement of cold (and plenty) air stream, you could try this solution when using the standard air box (regardless of the brand or type of filter being used within the air box). It is a 2 GBP solution and it works very good and measurable, how fast the OBD2 readings of the inlet temperature comes down after restarting the hot car 15 minutes later as well as the throttle response is better when driving faster than ca. 50 mph.

Thanks for the suggestion - I had looked at this, but as I have a 'baby doll' front valance fitted I'd discounted, as the hose would be too close to the ground. I assume the two holes in the valance are there for air flow to the brakes, otherwise utilising one of these would make a great air scoop.

David, others may know better but TBH I don‘t think that the brakes on a classic Morgan benefit so much from this tiny amount of additional air. I would give it a try as a source for the airbox.

Finally got around to fitting a silicon hosed to offside baby doll air vents. I think it has given some marginal improvement. The hose is attached to the vent using a large jubilee clip. (fitted after the photo's taken)





Also tried the near side, b ut the hose I used was too stiff, and could not be bent without putting too much strain on the vent. May at some point source some more flexible hose
