Thank You for the pics. Simon's is far different than My "Made In China" alloy rad. It is much bigger and the workmanship seems to be a lot better. My "Made In China" rad seems to be an exact copy of a Original +8 radiator. It seems to fit OK but I did have to shim the mounts to prevent interference with the track rods. The proof will be when I test it in Eastern Washington where temps are 100F often.

All working perfectly, only minor drama was a weep from the expansion tank hose that I forgot to tighten.

Fan kicks in as it should, new thermostat does its job too.

Interestingly the temp gauge is a touch higher than previously, sits at approx 90 degrees as opposed to 85.

Now I've got to decide what to do with the old rad etc. I do have an idea though...................

Have a look here Grumpy for reasoning why this seems to happen with increased cooling from new rad. Your car will have thermostat in combined cylinder head outlets but the reasoning remains that cooler coolant on return initially lowers engine temp which is then over compensated by stat closing a tad and raising engine temp slightly.

I am taking My Old Rad to a Radiator Shop and have it re-cored. Just in case I need it in the future.

Hi,
Do you know where I could get hold of a SIFab radiator kit for my 2009 4/4?
I emailed enquires at SIFab and never recieved a reply and all their adverts seem to have disappeared in the magazine?
Their website seems to be down too, are they still about?
I am hoping to replace my radiator over the winter as a precaution.
Cheers
Paul

You could try Williams they market one which is maybe made for them by Simon, not 100% sure on that but customers have been happy with them.

I have a Mulfab in my Plus 8 and that is a well engineered efficient unit as well, so you have options.

Correction the Williams units are manufactured by Mulfab to their spec.

Simon seems very busy at the moment - https://www.facebook.com/SiFab1874/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARAM1lbjgqYjHhp4E3JjBt2-YtUuTdURtFIep8fNJAvWDEzhehO813MK6qS6H2W2YqMkQFNMrwz3kDGW

I ordered mine through Williams Paul, same price as ordering direct from SiFab, but I paid the extra to have mine installed.
