Dean it was Beal level crossing at 3.45pm train heading north nearest station Haggerston. the crossing between the A1 and Holy Island
As a kid dad constantly bought me train sets, i hated them , kept telling him I wanted a scalectrix, now you know why.

Thing is, when you're doing a mile every 30 seconds, it needs a decent time interval. Even an extra mile out is only another 30 seconds. Sounds like it needs recalibrating.

It's a manually controlled crossing with CCTV. That is, it is operated by the signaller and not by the trains using treadles on the track.
