What did they do with the bright steel hubs and the brass wheel nuts?
I have a constant battle to keep them looking their best, I currently use an aerosol wax after a metal polish , it prevents tarnishing, but it attracts dirt and needs to be wiped off and re-applied. Hi mate, Well actually, I did both those items myself! I used the old favourite, BRASSO!!! Took me about 1.30 a wheel... but very enjoyable time spent! It will need constant upkeep however, but worth it! Having a plethora of brass on my trad narrowboat I found I couldn't keep up with the constant polishing of same despite industrial size can of Brasso to hand  Answer I found was Incralac a miltary approved clear lacquer specifically for non-ferrous metals and available in spray or brush application. Locks in the shine although accept the purist Mog owner will probably still want the pleasure of regular polishing

Must confess now I feel guilty.
As much as I use detailer after almost every trip in/on Florence, I have literally never done anything to our family narrowboat other than mop down after dropping a bucket on a rope over the side! Maybe not as attached to the boat....?

My dad used to cover the brasses in cling film over the winter to keep the worst of the degradation at bay whilst he still had his narrow boat. He sold it nearly 8 years ago. I wonder where Basford is now?

Brasso - very good for repairing scratched CD's. (Note the wrong apostrophe). Polish centre to outside edge, not round the disc.
