Went to Allon whites (210 m ) round trip to get heated seats fitted.
Did not enjoy the rain on the way back on the A14, but did enjoy that warm feeling.

Yes. 40 km at 3:30 in the morning to go and sit for 2 hours in the waiting room at casualty at the local hospital. I got bitten, probably by a small spider that got cought in my clothes, late yesterday afternoon. We could not find anything but it got me in 2 places under my arm and 2 on the upper arm. Felt like a jellyfish sting and other than the reddened points seemed to be ok after a short while. Woke up in the night with sor and very itchy swelling and two spreading red patches. I decided that it may be best to go to casualty as it is a public holiday today and obviously no doctors available.

If it wasn't that I was tired and quite sore it would have been a lovely drive under a full moon and no traffic on the road.

It was confirmed that it was probably a spider bite and I was given an injection ion of cortisone and another of an antihistamine . I was finally discharged at 7:00. I then had to wit till the duty pharmacy opened at 8:30 to get a cream.

Still feels awful and I am off to bed to catch up on at lest an hour of sleep, if I can.

A bit ironic really. I lived more than 50 years in Australia and this is the first spide bite I have had.

Get well soon Peter.

I've been lucky so far. Midges don't trouble me although they devour MrsW, so all I have to watch for is ticks, because where we go walking there are always ticks, and we get one occasionally.

Well the weather is fine and Dartmoor is calling me so it's a Cream Tea at Princetown this afternoon to meet up with my TR pal from Plymouth.

Well it sure was busy up on Dartmoor and Blackpool Sands looking like a Garibaldi biscuit it's so rammed, good to see Gods country being enjoyed by the grockles though.

Hope you get better soon Peter. One of my nicknames from my lads holiday days was “mosquito man” - erm I fell asleep on a balcony (long story for another day) and when I woke up I had something like 47 bites from something (unfortunately was insect based rather female ....) across hands, arms and worse all over my face. Every lady I spoke to mocked me for some reason. I turned to drink in desperation.... 😢

Starting to feel better. Thanks to everyone for their best wishes. Still giving me a bit of itching and pin but the swelling and the redness is slowly subsiding.
