I can only speculate that the set up in the Plus 4 was to address emissions...…..the exhaust manifold looks a bad design, and clearly reduces gas flow.

This specific engine spec isn't used in many Ford cars apparently.

Hi John that manifold looks great, did you think about keeping your standard exhaust or is that not possible. Was having the ECU flash expensive and how have the modifications affected your insurance

Wondering whether to wrap...……

Never been a fan of wrap, but with a manifold off the car, that's the time...….

Wrap is good Dave..I used 58' of 2 " wrap on my Supersports as a guide.

When I fitted the Librands manifold on my 4/4 I needed to undo the engine mounts and lift the engine with trolley jack to facilitate.

Why are you messing about with expensive add-ons ?...just get a hooligan Supersports with all the good stuff fitted and become one of the elite 60 owners !!!

Dave, in my case the wrap delivers some more mid range „breath“ and it could happen that the cat can work better, because there could be too much coolant effect due to the length of the manifold pipes without wrapping in front of the cat. At least the wrap was recommended in earlier days regarding the good old 2.0 Duratec when installing a sports manifold to prevent the engine light coming on.

My standard exhaust had a fault and had to be replaced anyway. The ECU flash itself wasn't expensive nor was the Insurance.

Still had the engine MIL coming on in my case. Fitting the throttle bodies resolved that problem smile
