Pootling home from Norfolk the other day, I glanced across and down at the speedometer and was surprised to see it reading zero. The tachometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge were also doing the same. Then they all came back again. This happened the rest of the way home; the dials all resting at zero for a short while then resuming normal business - mostly after a bump or when on a bit of rough tarmac. The odometer and digital speedo were unaffected. The fuel and temperature gauges lagged behind the other two when returning to normal and the background lighting was fine throughout. I had the headlights on.

Now I’m obviously suspecting a loose electrical connection somewhere here but before I go delving into things was wondering if anyone has had similar or could point me in some sort of direction? Many thanks in advance.

It’s a 2015 Plus 4 GDi.

Check the earths. There is one on the passenger side where the heater box comes through the firewall.

I experienced something similar and it was caused by a loose connection at the wiper engine connector

Think I would pop the dash off and check the multi plug connectors, which may be falling off. They tend not to have security tabs on them.

First port of call was the fuse box. Took the fuse out then put it back in again and it's been ok since. If it reoccurs further exploration may be necessary. Thanks for the help.
