I was speaking to one of Morgan’s suppliers today mentioning I was likely to be buying a new plus 4 GDI in around a years and he thought Morgan may not be making them by then. He said they already had cars on the road testing the replacement for the 4/4 and the plus 4. No more details were provided. I guess we will hear soon enough maybe Geneva next year? Do you think that was just engines or the chassis as well.

As I said in another thread a slightly narrower Plus 4 or even a 4/4 would not look too bad I think. Let's guess what they will cost, I say for a 4/4 ca. it starts without extras at 58K GBP including VAT. Who guesses the best of all the right price gets a 4/4 for free.

I have never been a great fan of 3 cylinder engines (with the exception of the Laverda ) and my experience of small turbocharged engines leaves me unimpressed. They really do lack torque until the turbo cuts in. To me a 4 cylinder 2 litre would seem to offer the best driveabilty.

I'll go for £60k Heinz just for the craic unlike the misguided MMC tour guide (on madmax tour) I believe the import duties etc will be biting hard by the time this model is released say possibly at Genf.

OK, the Plus 4 4 cylinder for 66K incl. VAT naked, my guess.

Are any 4/4's even been made now for other worldwide markets... or has the factory completely stopped production of the 'narrow body'?...

It still features on the official MMC site as being available here so I assume so, maybe Graham will confirm they are still being produced.

BTW here was often speculated that a plus 4 could not be as much cheaper than a plus six due to the new platform. I don't think so. Was it so much different between a Trad 4/4 and a Roadster? The 4/4 has cost us in Germany well equipped 55K € and the Roadster about 80K. It cannot be that the V6 engine of the Roadster cost 25K additionally, that is a laugh. Ok, other rims etc regarding the Roadster. But the handcrafted work on the body is mostly identical. Conversely, it may be possible that a Plus 4 or 4/4 with a new platform is noticeably cheaper than a Plus six.
