Up to the TOP bar, there is a lower bar which I assume to be a minimum.
Only fill the oil to the top once it is warm.

Lightspeed you are correct check the level when warm. I wait a few minutes to allow any foaming to settle. With a cold engine after checking there is no oil in the sump & if above the lower bar should be OK to start & recheck when warm.
