Has anyone here actually been contacted by Morgan, or a dealer, to take their M3W into a dealer for this recall inspection, or have they heard of any other owners being contacted? I don't mean after you have approached them with a reference to the recall posted on this forum. I was just wondering if Morgan had done anything other than the post on TM to draw attention to these inspection requirements, such as contacting owners personally by email or letter? Please don't quote this again OZ 4/4.

In view of the lack of any quick response from forum members saying they have been contacted personally about the safety related recall, or know of other owners being contacted, I assume there has been nothing other than the post on this forum dated 18/06/19. If any of you would like to post to confirm this suspicion please feel free. I have a 2013 car myself and have had no contact. My car is OK by the way, TM readers know about these things  .

The rule about bracing of butt welded suspension mountings on competition vehicles, strikes me as an eminent application of common sense. I will be very interested to hear what your friendly scrutineer has to say.
Scrutineers often have their own pet foibles.

They certainly do Wilson! Not a scrutineer, but at yesterday's corporate/club day (VHRA) I asked one of our CoC who holds both ACU and MSA (sorry MUK now) and his answer was simple - if constructed as a competition car then it would need the additional bracing you mention. As it's a road going car, running in a road going class, then the present butt weld is sufficient, but the car must have a current MoT / be road legal. Won't meet up with a friendly scrutineer until the Midland championship meet in a couple of weeks time.

I have just ploughed through the massive tome from the UK Motor Sport Association of competition vehicle build rules and all butt welded suspension mountings should be braced or gusseted. The M3W in theory therefore, could not be used as is for motorsport if you had a fussy/knowledgeable scrutineer.
Wilson Ouch! Although it is notable that MCC do not (AFAIK) have a competition M3W5sp. Meanwhile I am wondering if the fuel tank mount crack issue is another recall-worthy roadworthiness concern for MCC to consider. But I may be biased as I'm a victim of that fault! A reasonable question PaulV PaulV, the last recall took some time to arrive so you may be waiting for a while...

This morning I received a letter, below, from MMC regarding brake pedal inspection, my 2013 M3W has the newer type of assembly and does not have the M3W logo cut into the pedals. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/11/16/img066.jpg)

This morning I received a letter, below, from MMC regarding brake pedal inspection, my 2013 M3W has the newer type of assembly and does not have the M3W logo cut into the pedals.As stated in the letter "In some affected vehicles, a brake pedal assy with a laser cut M3W LOGO may have been installed with insufficient weld" " According to our records you are the owner of a vehicle that may be affected by this condition" - (not according to the owner) It is a concern that Morgan clearly don't know who has got what......

Yes I got that letter today,a bit of a worry as I have only just got the car back from them after having the chassis /frame repaired from the previous recall. One would have hoped /expected that to have been dealt with at the same time. Oh well out to the shed to see if it has been done.
All ways fun these things.

It was obviously a shotgun letter to all and sundry as MMC had already sent me a kit in July to my French house and I fitted it soon afterwards. A bit fiddly and having a pair of Maun miniature tinker's claws end nippers helps for removing the original split pins. It took me about an hour to do.
