Then there is absolutely no excuse for what you were charged. I would be as livid as you are and other than writing to the owner and expressing my dissatisfaction (ensuring I received a refund), I would vote with my feet (as you are doing).

I just thought I'd update this thread.
As it happens, the factory came to know about the car wash (not from me) and contacted me asking for more details. It was decided that the dealer should refund me my money and the factory requested that they contact me to sort it all out.
Two months down the line, I'm still waiting to be contacted.
Kudos to the factory for impeccable customer service - I can't imagine any other brand caring as much about their customers as Morgan do. However I am left really, really unimpressed by the dealer - assuming the factory did do everything they said they did (and I have no reason to doubt them), I think this particular dealer has handled the situation with immense bad grace and is obviously far more concerned about his own PR and 'status' than any of his customers.

My new Focus went in a few weeks ago for its first free check over at the dealer I bought it from. When it was ready it came back wet from a wash. No charge at all for this "extra". Mind you... the car was spotless going in! As an alternative to a public name and shame emails to pass on? As an aside.... I wouder how Trading Standards would view this practice? A call to them and subsequent queries to the garage concerned might put the frighteners on them?

They weren't near Dorking by chance were they? I had a bad experience there last month. Needed a front wheel removed so that I could check to see why the tyre was slowly deflating. Decided to let them do it as I didn't want to damage anything, especially the tyre pressure sensor and assumed they would no what they were doing.
Long story cut short, whilst they were pleasant and helpful enough, they charged me £80 to remove the wheel (cash) take it to the tyre place and swap the tyre onto my spare wheel that I had. They also used my tools to remove the wheel. Admittedly they leant me a company hack to do 8 miles to pick my spare wheel up. However, they then handed me my old wheel with the remains of the tyre pressure sensor which had been ripped off by the tyre place they use!!!
Needless to say I won't be returning to them and have now built a couple of ramps and a beam so that I can do the job myself in future.
The polar opposite to this experience has been my dealings with BHM, who without fail bend over backwards to assit and really know how to look after customers. That's where the car will go for its big service.

Culminator, re praise of BHM---thats why I sit in my roadster on the M25 for a good hour longer than needs be in preference to driving to a closer surrey dealer to Wimbledon---BHM know that service is king followed by cost.

I am in the final stages of taking a dealer to County court for leaving my mog out in the winter of 2010 destroying the engine , the leather , chipping both wings , the grill , both chrome bumpers , the discs even the wrong window in the hood when it was typed what to do on A4 paper and given to them . 23 years of TLC abused it feels like my car has been raped . He jumped ship and gave it to loss adjusters , who jumped ship and gave it to an insurance company , who have jumped ship and gave it to solicitors all done at the last moment . They can run but they cant hide . They have lied constantly but I have photos of befor and after and am looking forward to court . If talk mog dont mind I will put all the befor and after photos for mog owners to see as I dont want others to fall into this trap

That is the most negligent thing I've heard in ages.
Good luck in getting the right result!

Just brought back my Aero from BHM after service - as usual uncomplicated, efficient and when I said I might be a bit late collecting it "No problem, we'll stay open until you get here". Says it all really.....

RTCC just did my annual service on my +4 with their normal good service and fitted a Librands sports exhaust manifold.
