Why not drop them an email Peter? I've had several pinto-engined Fords in my time (Capris - yeh!) and their Fomoco distributors are different from the crossflow ones, yet they say their unit will fit both. I'm sure they'd like to hear about your problems directly.

Hi, New on here sp apologies if I make a fool of myself. I fitted an Acue Spark to my X-flow back in Feb following a full engine rebuild. Used to have a nightmare getting the points and timing set up. Now she starts first time every time and runs like a dream. No one would know it was there unless the lifted the dizzy cap. http://www.accuspark.co.uk/?gclid=CKnDsaX_m6gCFUNlfAodnxoUHg

I have to have a spare pair of glasses standing by for WHEN i lose the first pair - unless I tread on them in which case they're knackered anyway. Last year I found a pair in the oven, must've put them on the fold down oven door while I read the instructions on the frozen chip packet, shut the door, switched on and cooked them, looked everywhere for them, found them when the chips were done - they looked like prawn crackers! It's silly having fold down doors anyway. It just served to confirm the wifes suspicions.

hi Graham, Any sizes yet for the chassis bracing Graham? or maybe a pic or 2. Could you ask them what precautions they took with regard to welding so near fuel lines?
Peter Sorry, couldn't find the original thread where we were discussing this so: Looking down from above, if you measure your plate from the edges of the chassis leg, i.e. the visible part of the plate, mine extends 15" forward from the front of the bulkhead to where it disappears under the chassis rail forward (it actually finishes forward of where the engine mounts fit to the chassis rail). The width at the rear, by the bulkhead is approx 5" and extends in a straight line forward. The plate is obvioulsy larger than this as it extends under the chassis rail. Anyone in/near Cheltenham with a digi camera so that we could post up some pics?? Cheers,
Graham (G4FUJ)

Graham, thank you for your reply, I will measure mine and then we can compare sizes, yours is obviously bigger than mine, and that is what I want to find out. digi cameras are so cheap now, is your birthday coming up soon? drop some hints about the kitchen, like, "if I had a digi camera, I could capture your marvellous shepherds pie and put it on your desktop."Darling, sweetypie...." Hint: remove all sharp objects before exploring this tack..

Peter, knows of my deep enthusiasm for film - from 35mm to 6x17 panoramic, with lots of others in between... So, if nothing comes up in the meantime, I will photograph things but it may be some time before you get to see the pictures... Cheers,

Cheers, Graham I am going to make up some cardboard templates to the sizes that you gave and offer them up under the car to compare, maybe even take a pic or two. Then I can determine what to do...

Hi Peter,
You will need to make bigger templates - I have measured from above so my dimensions do not include the amount of metal under the chassis leg and cross member.
Hope that makes sense?
Cheers,
