HB...
Uh Oh!
Thin end of a wedge those thoughts are!
Whatever combination I may end up with... I am keeping my 4/4 however... that is why I was attracted to a Morgan from the outset! Skuttle-shake! The essence of a 'bygone' era that we have lost in todays efficient, comfortable and great handling production cars... The Plus Six is now delivering that experience as well, except of course it also keeps the 'olde worlde' looks and link to the Morgan name.
A fascinating evolution... maybe the MMC may end up 'splitting' into 2 different companies... as long as legislation allows a car with the build of the 'trad's' to continue, I think there will always be buyers for them.

Whatever else, it's really great to see MMC getting all this positive feedback. Looks like they carefully put this car together. Nick

If they get a manual gearbox and a sporty exhaust I will be very interested in a couple of years once we have seen this one settle model wise.

BMW did offer the manual gearbox on the M140i and M135i (slightly different engine), but dropped it. I therefore wonder if it is still in production? One for someone on here who is also on the BMW forums!

Mr Jenks —- your option 2 would really excite - particularly as the much lower CO2 of the BMW 2.0 L would make much more sense as regards the registration tax over here!!!!
Cheers!

[quote=Alistair]Or we might all buy a Mitsuoka Roadster for a quiet life. Before you click on the link just remember I did warn you! https://www.mitsuokaIts the driving experience Crikey what a ghastly car. Thought it must be Chinese. Jaguar body, Daimler (?) rad, Morgan wings, Porsche lights, slk roof. Why didn’t they try to design something original? Or was that a spoof?

It is a small Japanese company that use existing frames like the Kai cars and Micra's and then re-bodies them. It has made some pretty crazy stuff if you do a google image search of the company name. I guess it is all from the markets perspective!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

All I would like to see is a Plus Four with around 225bhp, manual box and spare wheel.
Our Polo GTI with (I think) 189bhp in a reasonably light shell is a rocket, so that Plus Four would do the business. If they kept it under £60k with bells and whistles it would be seriously tempting. I suspect that the current price maybe a loss-leader to get the initial interest/ reviews/ user devlopment out of the way. It is after all nearly £55,000(?) cheaper than the run out +8. I would not be surprised by a ticket price of c £100,000 by next year. If so it would be difficult to see a saving of £40k by using the smaller engine.

I'm not convinced that the launch price is artificial. Over the last 4 years the Aero chassis cars went up rapidly: a classic pricing strategy to create pricing room between the Aeros, Plus 8 and Plus 4.
MMC has said in press releases that the Six takes far less time to build and the platform is cheaper than the old Aero platform.
