Calum: I'm looking at the posible roads to get to Caramulo from Santander... You have such amazing options! Again: let me know if you want suggestions / advise. Just let me know how many days/nights you want to make until your final destination and I can tell you which would be my road choices!

The Yorkshire sunshine seems to have followed me to Spain. Santander to Riano via various high passes and roads where they must have bought the hairpins as a job lot and completely forgot to put any straights in between. Marvellous apart from the deluge and the driving in thick cloud. The rain is at least warmer than in Yorkshire and it did dry up for the last few kilometres. The weather has improved...blue sky, sunshine, empty roads...just like home and not at all like Yorkshire!  Been on wonderful twisting mountain roads, sweeping main roads and even some incredibly quiet motorway. Had some culture in the form of a wander round a medieval Templar fortress and am now having a cerveza in a pavement cafe. Photos may well follow but probably not of the beer. Admirably cold as it is, it's just not that photogenic a beer!
