Hello again! More questions! I plan to buy a Moto-Lita steering Wheel for my hopefully-soon-to-be-ordered M3W. Wood one with rivets. Nice and classy. Like the one in this picture but probably dark-stain as my dashboard (Classic) will be TAWNY stain. ![[Linked Image]](https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img921/3889/04gfS0.jpg) I don't want to give up the standard leather steering Wheel! I want to have the choice which steering wheel I want to use. For it, I'll need to buy a second quick release steering boss (part number U190055). Surprisingly MMC told me to ask my dealer for this spare part. And the dealer has no idea and can’t tell me if it’s available or its price. I imagined MMC and the dealer would communicate and give me an answer…. But… it’s not happening. Here’s the question: do you know if this quick release steering boss is supplied by others? Can I buy it somewhere else? Please be so kind to tell me, if you know. ![[Linked Image]](https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/6046/yPsnyH.png) Thank you!

I bought a spare online from subesports.com for about $200. Search for Lifeline 410-100-001. Several suppliers in Europe have them as well.
The dealers I checked with wanted to charge about $500! Nothing wrong with them trying, I guess.

See also https://www.lifeline-fire.co.uk/quick-release-steering-bossI bought one from the Morgan stand at Thrill on the Hill last year. Looked like they had excess inventory. £25 if I recall... Also seen lots on flea bay but not sure of their fit or quality...

It looks like the right one is the Life-Line Formula, as it has three bolts to fix the steering Wheel as the M3W has. Am I right? Steve, is this the one you bought?
Buying this boss implies modifying something else on the steering column or does it just work as the original boss?
Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, that is the one I bought, so the part number I listed (Lifeline P/N 410-100-001) is the correct one, verified to fit (my car at least!).

I'll have to re-verify, as your M3W is a 2012 car, and then the part number - see the drawing above - (SP190001) is apparently not the same as for the new M3W since 03/04/2017 (UI190055).

Perhaps someone with a post 3/4/17 build date can photograph both the quick release and the bare splines on the steering shaft (wheel removed)? I can do the same and we can compare.
