Where does one get a spare ignition key? What are the options? Only the dealership, which in my case does not exist.

You need a blank from a Peugeot 205 (ebay), then a local locksmith would cut it for you.

I went onto eBay and looked for a 205 blank key and all I found was a key shell and not just a blank key. For some reason the 205 was a rare beast.
Do you have a particular link to a blank?

I got an ignition key copied recently.
Went to local locksmith who were a little phased at the start but an older head intervened and a blank was found.

A lot of locksmiths have a book which has all the blanks possible then they can order one or might have one on the shelf.
My local locksmith has loads of blanks for most car makes and also can set the chip on the fob via his reader.

How many keys do you get from MMC? Just one?

From my dealer, I had two sets of keys. They included the ignition key and a separate key for the fuel filler cap. If you have opted for a security box - yet another key.

P964, all the ones I found on the net had the plastic case with push buttons on it, and they kept calling it a shell.

Kankel, thanks I’ll give it a try, I didn’t want to trash a good spare key or the one I am now using to try and make the wee one.
I tried those links and they didn’t work on the iPad, Will go to the big computer.

BrownBaker, that would be our hardware store and they MIGHT be able. If I ask the right person he might take it as a personal challenge and be willing to try and order something.

Did you use either on of those? The first one says its fort a 206.

I will head over to the local hardware store today and see if I can find the NE72 made in Italy for the French car lock/switch. That is the easiest style to modify unless I can find the first link you suggested that has nothing but a shank onto which I can affix that knob.
