Hello - Sorry to repeat this message here in this post. I guess it's a better place due to the real subject! I just replaced the original steering wheel by a beautiful Moto-Lita 14" wood one. However, I would like to re-do the original one with perforated nice leather, same color as the leather seats, and keep it with its own quick release system so I can choose which steering wheel to use. "Wood today? Or the leather one? " To make this possible, I have to buy a new Traven Technology quick release system. Unless I'm wrong, for my brand new M3W, the part number is U190055 (please correct me if I'm wrong). I've tried to find one for sale in the internet, but it looks like impossible mission. So, I guess I'll have to buy it from my Morgan dealer... Anyone has a clue where to find and buy this quick release other than passing through the dealer and MMC? Thanks. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/12/15/IMG_4727.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/12/15/M3W---Traven-Technology-quick-release.png)

Well…. that's weird… my dealer asked MMC for a spare quick release boss kit, and they told him this part is not available. REALLY????
Maybe it's a one of this "strange fast-and-silly-replies" because Christmas is coming or whatever… but what would happen if - for example while changing the steering wheel as I just did - this quick release is damaged? Really no spare part available? COME ON!!!

You could try Superspoke ( INFO@SUPERSPOKE.CO.UK). I am not sure whether they make QR wheels and hubs for Morgans any more, but they should be able to help.

Still in the dealer shop. So I'm not planning a change of steering column… but if we really can't get a Traven quick release spare from MMC, I should seriuously think about changing the whole steering column set for a standard one and put whatever quick release I want. I'll chase my dealer and MMC again, because I really can't believe they can't sell a QR spare. It's simply ridiculous.

My wheel with QR boss (which fits the standard column perfectly) was £370, around the same as Moto Lita and a lot less than the MMC Brooklands wheel. If they can still supply a boss separately, I am sure it would be competitive with anything from Moto Lita etc.

I seem to remember the Traven boss is made by the company who make the steering wrack for MMC.
The Lifeline one can be obtained from most good motorsports component suppliers.

I suspect that MMC have done the same deal with Treven that they seem to do with most of their suppliers for bespoke parts where it is not possible to get the parts from anyone other than MMC. This is the same with Quaife for the Bevel Box and steering rack, Spax with the shock absorbers, TTV with the clutch, Centa with the compensator, the list goes on. It may be why they stopped using the far more reliable Lifeline item, as it was an off the shelf product that they couldn't stop being marketed. Traven make the steering racks for the 4 wheelers, I wonder if they have the same parts supply limitations?

As you intend on using the far from perfect Treven steering QR on a regular basis and not leaving the steering wheel anti tamper locking screw safely in place Marmota, can I draw your attention to this warning, for your own safety. I am sure you are aware but just in case..... https://www.mtwc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/QR-Steering-Wheel-Problems.pdf

I recall that Sears did the same thing in that many of the things they sold were made by others, but with enough differences you had to go to Sears for parts
