That looks like mine, but I have even worse cracks in the wood. Thanks for the pictures, Stephen! Disappointing in so many ways DocNik. So Stephen's experience is not just a "one off"

When I was putting it all back together I discovered why they missed hitting the wood squarely with the screw in that one location. The FOG lamp bracket was not bent out far enough for the holes in it to hit the center of the wooden body supports. I rebent it so the holes were at least in the canter of the wood. I suppose I could have redrilled the holes in the aluminum plate that is the lamp bracket.
