Stephen, unless your car is unique you don't need to worry about power feeds and switches. As confirmed by Draggin, myself and the wiring schematic, the reverse light switch is already connected and provides power to the rear four way female connector when reverse is selected with ignition on.
All you need to do is pick up reverse light feed from the unused connections on this rear connector located close to existing fog light. The connections are colour coded green/brown (switched positive) and black negative. If you wish, for peace of mind a voltmeter connected to appropriate on socket will confirm they are live when reverse selected, ignition on.
How you connect your new reverse lighto is your choice. Draggin just added pins from reverse light in matching plug, which is the most elegant way. I spliced short extension into the cables near connector as I was fitting reversing light in a new pod and retaining fog light.

I did use a voltmeter when searching for a hot wire in that connector so, I will take that all apart again and look again, maybe I missed something.
Did you see the switch I photographed for the Forum? What is it?

Distant memory, but I have a feeling the one in your photo is not the reversing light switch. That has green (ignition switch feed) and green/brown (switched feed to light) cables connected to it, and can be found on right hand side of gearbox.

Those two blue conductors are indeed on the right side of the transmission. Maybe MMC did something different on the 2019 models?

Just installed a reversing light in place of the standard red fog lamp, a very simple mod. As confirmed here by others, the factory wiring loom has a provision for the reverse light already, so no modifications to the wiring loom (even on my Dec 2012 machine) or any mucking about with transmission reverse switch are required. Just mount the new light, connect, and engage reverse.
In my case I used a clear white light (55mm LED, 3 ear mount) from Car Builder Solutions (carbuilder.com) which was a direct bolt in, but doesn't come with contact pins installed, so it requires either sourcing the appropriate pins or splicing the old ones onto the new light (which is the way I went and involves moving the two pins from one side of the connector to the other-see earlier posts in this thread). Probably a better solution would be to go with the factory option for the Austrialian market (see the parts book), which apparently has the pins already installed.

Bruce, you are correct, there is no need to look for the transmission reversing switch since it is already wired into the loom. It amazes me that it was not used!
I too used the Car Builders Solutions lamp. I used crimp fittings and soldered them in place and used heat shrink tube over them, Harder to replace in the future but way smaller a bundle.

It puzzles me that American owners want to do away with the rear for lamp. This is a requirement in Europe, do you not get fog in USA? The fog light is well bright enough to act as a reversing light with no mods.

I deleted that wimpy little lamp and added two more spaced further apart AND added a pulsing center high brake lamp. I live about 25 feet above the Puget Sound and it can get foggy and I can be seen. The authorities have not complained one little bit.
We in the colonies like to see where we are going at night in reverse.
