I thought I would like to share some pics of my home made spinner removal tool. I made it out of 12.5mm marine ply (3 layers laminated together)

I basically copied the MG tool which a good friend of mine on here posted me the template. I made mine longer and thicker so I can now undo and tighten the spinners by hand without the need to bash them.

Nice job, do you need the extra thickness for strength?
From picture, it seems it was not needed to catch the spinner.

I think you do, there’s less chance of it slipping off the spinner. Marine plywood is also stronger and more durable than regular plywood. It doesn't have as many voids as regular ply which makes it structurally stronger too.

Impressive tool Craig!......and the best part is that its cost you nothing and you have had the satisfaction of making it to your own spec!

Nice work Craig. I made two versions, one very similar to yours and a short version that fits in the tool tray for touring.
It needs hitting with a hammer but saves the spinner from damage

Looks very nice. I did have one years ago, until my ex decided to throw it on the fire! Still something else on the 'To do list'!

I added metal tips to my bought item some years back to protect it from hammer blows. It looks a bit scruffy now but does the job.

Although I applaud the workmanship, may I question the need. I have always used a Thor hammer with the replaceable heads made of some sort of nylon material. This type of hammer was first shown to me by Keith at BHM and if he uses it then I need say no more.
