There are extensive threads on all these issues on this forum. Some are the subject of the recall.
At this stage the problems have been confined or discovered in early models. I think most owners are aware of them and know what to look for.
I understand many already do a "Pre flight check" as I suppose we should do with any vehicle.

Don’t forget the cracking of wood. I spotted cracked in my new M3W where they drove in screws without a pilot hole and cracked the wood. Pretty shoddy workmanship.

Same here. The screws holding the protective metal sheet in the back have pretty much all cracked their wooden spars. I was more than a little upset when I saw it.

Yep, pretty shoddy. You can see they completely missed with one screw. Must have been built after a long lunch at The Pub.

I was in the process of adding a backup lamp when I spotted this mess; I am the one who tagged the wires for future identification. With no real wiring diagram one never knows without tracing circuits. The online diagram is worthless, but I guess MMC can claim there is one, :-(

Makes you wonder about the finish on the new Plus6 if this is the standard of the M3W in 2019......

That looks like mine, but I have even worse cracks in the wood. Thanks for the pictures, Stephen!

It must be so disappointing given the money you paid, your expectation of your new dream car, to be presented with this standard of work.

Wonder if any one from the factory would care to provide a comment?
WireWheel, Mark Evans, Morris...........?

Very disheartening indeed, and to add insult to injury the front pinion gear on the engine has been leaking oil since day one. Not leaking enough to cause immediate failure but leaking enough to cause a mess. I realize the engine is not an MMC item but once the car was assembled I would have thought a test drive would be in order to see if everything was correct; apparently that is not the case.

Hand built, not necessarily well-built.
