Hi, I went to the Goodwood Revival yesterday and stumbled across the Morgan Display. I say "stumbled" as I felt it was kind of hiding amoung the other exhibitors and not standing out at all? The Routemaster bus seems to be their only attraction to draw you in and the advert on the side of the bus was the only Morgan Logo visable. To my mind we have grown so used to seeing advertising on buses that most of the time we don't even look up and bother to read it.
Where are the banners, graphics and Morgan Logos which should be in your face, standing out from the crowd?
A few cars parked on the grass with a white wooden fence really isn't enough. Even the parasols were blank, no Morgan Logo? I could very easily have just walked by and not have noticed they were there at all.
I'm sure they must have paid a large sum to take up some space at Goodwood, I feel they should have made more of that opportunity and used that space better, hire a new stand builder to give them a higher profile maybe?

I heard there were similar comments about the display at Chateau Impney, too. At the 3-Counties show at Malvern (at least on the Saturday) the bus did attract a number of classic bus fans, a few of whom showed some interest in the cars

Paul, I have the same opinion as you! It was to be blunt a "pitiful" effort when you think that the crowd who attend are surely the target people for Morgan. Even the very small "independent" compsnies who operate with a much lower sales portfolio had better presented displays. I would sum it up as a very boring show! T

Interesting I had the same thought last year. Seemed very low key. I admired the M3W on display and was bemused that there were no staff interested in talking to visitors to the stand. But this seems all in line with the attitude “our customers come to us” and “customers have to accept whatever quality we give them”.
And possibly a reason why, once the current (and mostly elderly) generation of Morgan owners stop buying cars, I expect Morgan to cease to exist in its current form. That will be a sad day!

If you think about it Morgan is already on the road to change; a change in majority ownership, a new 4 wheel platform, etc. Sooner or later the traditional Morgan chassis must go the way of the 4 seater and the 1600 4/4.

It's just a lack of imagination I think. They had the right idea and got a spot in an event with enormous possibilties and then ran out of inspiration! What a waste of money, time and effort to get that far and then fluff their lines. If you think about it, their social media presence with Facebook etc is very good, but that is link to exsisting customers and people whom are already interested. It seems they don't know how to go about attracting NEW interest and that is their future! They need to employ a new marketing person who thinks outside the box.

They don't need to employee him/her they just need to rent someone or find out what they like and copy it like everyone else does!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Now we have “modern” Morgans with new mechanicals the image definitely needs a corresponding update. Buy in marketing and develop a retro/modern theme of Classic combined with modern. I would include videos of cars being driven both on and off tracks too. The worldwide spread of Morgan centres is worth including...imagine Draculamog being used! Cars out in all weathers, dogs on board, the mix of fashions being worn. The theme would be on enjoyment of being the owner and all it brings in. I worked for Gallaher Cigar Division. Remember the Hamlet cigar adverts? They had a huge part in making Hamlet a success. Our Marketing Dept could get a topical ad out very quickly to match current events, keeping the theme intact. There was one with luminous condoms that wasn’t released though!
