I do feel for you Andy G. Once again, just like the carrier bag charge, it's o.k. to drive in the congestion area with a "polluting car" if you pay the charge which would amount to approx. £25 a day give or take. If al the local authorities were really serious, they should look at the number of empty buses driving around all day. It's nice for us to have a big red taxi with only us on it but it really does make a mockery of the stated intention of clean air. I'm think I read that the area around the Commercial Road/ The Highway exceeded the permitted limits on air quality on the first day of the year and that was the limit for the whole year.
Have you found out if the bike place in Stratford can help? As we tend to spend a lot of time in the city, this is certainly of interest to me.

Spoke today with the proprietor of bike place in Stratford. They have had to invest a "huge" some of money in their project, and would envisage that it would be several times higher for cars and 4 wheeled vehicles, so they have no interest in doing so.

However they did say that they thought something would/must come along in time as so many vehicles are going to be affected INCLUDING his own personal car. When I said I was continuing the search he asked me to inform him if I did find anywhere both for his personal interest in getting his own car exempt, and a professional one to see if they could collaborate in any way.

The search continues.

There is a certain irony in that the old Town Gas" produced far less CO2 than "High Speed" clean North Sea gas. I read that up to 10% H2 can be blended with natural gas, without the need to re-jet anything.
Its composition varies, but in general it is made up largely, up to 70%, of hydrogen and methane with small amounts of other hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide (a poisonous gas), carbon dioxide, and nitrogen.
Of course, the problem with Hydrogen burning is it produces a lot of water vapour: remember the amount of condensation that used to be found in houses with gas fires?

Doesnt make any sense does it. ULEZ is ultra low emission zone, yet my Frarri doing all of 16mpg on a good day is exempt, as is your Plus 8. Emissions of CO2 directly relate to the fuel used
